Project description:
This project aims to manufacture a low-cost autonomous scanner with a reasonable resolution for small to medium size companies. We have used off-the-shelf low cost hand held scanner and mounted it to a 6DoF robotic arm which can autonomously scan a part including color information. While scan resolution is sufficient for quality control purposes, total cost is 35 times less compared to cutting edge industrial versions. Same system can also be used to scan human body.
